    INTRODUCING MY NEW RELEASE

Received a concerning call or email from your child's school about their reading struggles? It can be baffling, especially when your child seems glued to their cell phone, navigating video games and online searches effortlessly. Before jumping to conclusions about the teacher or school, let's address the real issue: wrestling readers.

I'm here to help bridge the gap from wrestling with words to conquering them. Picture a wrestling match where one tries to gain control of the opponent – in this case, words on a page. I've witnessed it firsthand during my 40+ years of teaching, from Kindergarten to Adults.

Reading is a critical life skill, influencing success in school and beyond. It's not just about deciphering pictures or softly pronouncing words; it's understanding the alphabet, their sounds, and connections. Early readers, aware of words like McDonald's or Walmart, often develop a richer vocabulary. As your child navigates this challenge, remember that reading is fundamental to every occupation – from a cook reading a recipe to a rapper interpreting lyrics.

Don't worry; we can navigate this journey together. Let's transform wrestling readers into confident, successful ones, mastering the alphabet, decoding sounds, and unlocking the power of comprehension. Because reading isn't just a skill; it's a lifelong key to success in our dynamic society. - Charmaine

     Mother and Grandmother

The reading strategies Mrs. Dyson introduced helped my child develop a

more calming approach to reading, whereas before reading was thought of

as a battle. With Mrs. Dyson’s guidance, she was able to view reading with

a new optic. She told her to think differently and that there are words you just have not learned yet, instead of saying, it’s too hard to read.
